De Queen Public Schools will dismiss early today due to the district-wide power outage. Power has not been restored, and School Drive remains completely closed due to downed power lines.
Dismissal Information:
Car riders: Parents may begin picking up students at their school’s front office now. High school students should be picked up at the Junior High office due to the School Drive closure.
Student drivers: Students who drive themselves are being released now.
Bus riders: Buses will run at 9:30 AM to allow families time to make arrangements for someone to be home when students arrive.
Please use caution around the area and avoid School Drive.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep our students and families safe.

We invite you to visit with your child’s teachers and learn about resources available to help you encourage and support your student’s success.
The event will begin at 4:00 p.m. and conclude at 6:00 p.m. in the Junior High Cafeteria. Drinks and snacks will be provided.
For each teacher or booth you and your child visit, your child will receive a ticket to enter a drawing for a Nintendo Switch and game.

Our bus drivers play an important role in our #LeopardFamily. They help make sure our students start and end their school day safely and with a familiar, caring face.
🚌 Route driver pay: $24/hour
🚌 178-day school schedule
🚌 Morning and afternoon routes with your day in between
🚌 Sick and personal leave for contracted route drivers
🚌 Incentive pay available for unused sick days
🚌 Substitute driving opportunities also available

All application paperwork must be submitted by Wednesday, May 27, 2026, by the end of the business day.
The Board will meet on June 8, 2026, in the Administration Building Board Room to appoint an individual to fill this vacancy.
Qualifications to be considered for appointment:
An individual who wishes to be considered shall:
• Be a qualified elector who resides in the District or District zone, if applicable
• Submit a petition to the District that:
– States the individual’s intention to be considered for the appointment
– Is signed by at least twenty (20) qualified electors who reside within the District or the District zone where the vacancy exists
– Is submitted at least ten (10) days before the meeting date to fill the vacancy
